PRINCIPAL - FRANKIE SMITH

Frankie started dancing at the tender age of 3 and always knew that she wanted to be a dance teacher. She holds teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap, Gymnastics Dance, Freestyle and Musical Theatre and is a Fellow of the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association). She also has a BA(Hons) degree in Dance Education from the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) and is Acrobatic Arts Certified. She has over 7 years experience of teaching in schools, nurseries, dance schools and performing arts academies.
Upon finishing school Frankie embarked on the BTEC Musical Theatre course at Stratford-upon-Avon College before moving to Guildford to train at the Performance Preparation Academy in Musical Theatre.
She has performed in musicals such as Legally Blonde, Singing in the Rain, Anything Goes as well as many other performances over the years.
Since moving back to the area Frankie has choreographed for local theatre productions including Gypsy and Oliver! (Loft Theatre Company), Beauty and the Beast, Annie, The Lazy Ace and Madagascar (PQA Warwick), Beauty and the Beast (Spa Juniors) and very nearly Crazy For You (LWMS) however the show was cancelled a week prior to opening night due to a pandemic!
Frankie is extremely proud and excited to see her dream of running a dance school come true and looks forward to seeing how Zest Dance grows over the coming years.
TEACHER - LAUREN PIDGEON

Lauren started dancing at the age of 5 in Kenilworth and completed all her IDTA Ballet and Tap grades before leaving for university. During this time she also performed in local amateur theatre productions including West Side Story, Babes in the Wood and Sleeping Beauty in addition to numerous dance shows.
Upon graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in Arts Management, Lauren returned to the Midlands and started working towards her dance teaching qualifications whilst also working at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
She is now an Associate member of the IDTA, with teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Gymnastics Dance. She is also Acrobatic Arts certified and working towards her Level 1 Gymnastics coach qualification. Lauren has more than 14 years experience preparing students for graded exams with 100% pass rate, plus choreography for show routines at all levels. She particularly enjoys teaching adults in a class environment where they can build their confidence, learn new skills and leave with a sense of achievement.
